Saturation Diving Grimreefs Guide
The live named monster behind Simply Better — two kills, one level, no excuses.
Grimreefs are a live named entity in Saturation Diving. We know because Roblox badge Simply Better says: Kill two grimreefs in one level. That sentence is stricter than Hunter (kill any monster) and different from Hunter Killer (ten monsters in one run). If you searched “Saturation Diving grimreefs” or “Simply Better badge,” you need this page, not a generic entities skim.
Reading The Badge Like A Spec
- Two kills — one is not enough. Assists that never register a kill credit will not finish the award.
- In one level — not across a whole dive. If you kill one in level seven and one in level eight, the badge stays dark.
- Grimreefs — specific target. Random brine jellies do not count.
Award counts for Simply Better sit in the low hundreds while Primitive Diver sits near three hundred thousand. Treat it as a flex hunt, not a first-session checkbox.
How The Fight Feels
Community footage shows grimreef-class threats as aggressive mid-to-deep hostiles that punish split squads. Do not tunnel on a pipe while one player kites alone. Call the pull, stack damage, confirm both corpses before you leave the level. Public 50-player rooms will steal tags — hop or blob (co-op). Official VIP is off.
Bring a loadout that can kill without draining the tank dry. Oxygen habits from How to Survive still win. A dead diver with one grimreef kill is a failed Simply Better run.
Suggested Hunt Plan
- Reach a depth band where grimreefs actually spawn — do not farm Twilight Reef hopium all night.
- Dedicate the dive. Do not mix Music Box, full Collector, and two grimreefs on one bar.
- Designate a caller. One voice (external Discord — in-game voice is unsupported) owns the “same level” check.
- After the first kill, do not advance the level clock until the second is down.
- Extract or continue only after the badge lights or you confirm a grant failure and rejoin once.
Combat Versus Logs
Killing grimreefs is not the same as collecting their monster logs. Antiquities / The Collector are collectible awards. Simply Better is a kill award. You can be Collector without Simply Better and the reverse. Separate the grind.
P.L.O.P (single-use clear tool that also helps Sanguinite sweeps — see items and pearls) can save a wipe mid-fight, but do not waste your only P.L.O.P before the second grimreef is in range if the badge is the goal.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
How do I get the Simply Better badge?
Kill two grimreefs inside the same level in one dive. One kill per level does not count.
Do grimreef kills count for Hunter?
Yes. Any monster kill can award Hunter. Simply Better still needs the specific two-in-one-level grimreef condition.
Can I finish Simply Better solo?
Possible, but public density and oxygen make a coordinated duo safer. Official private servers are disabled.
Is a grimreef log required?
No. Simply Better is a kill badge. Logs are a separate collectible track.
